We recommend the following steps to get started.

1. Know the basics

Reading this guide is the first step. Some basic information on how BookAndPay service application works gives you a good start. So lets get started.

BookAndPay service is a software application which runs on a Linux server. The Linux server can be virtual machine on a cloud solution provider such as AWS, Azure or it can run on your private on-premise server.

By connecting BookAndPay application to your existing website, you will enable and automate booking and work order management in a secure way. There is no programming required for basic integration. Various business examples are described in the business examples section.

Integrating BookAndPay application to your existing website can be as simple as adding two buttons such as “Book Now” and “Login” and link the button URLs to the BookAndPay application URLs/endpoints. Details how to do that is described in configuration guide

Most of the examples described in the business examples section can be done by someone with basic IT skills and some minimal web development experience.

BookAndPay service comes with various features. You may not need to configure all features. For example you may not need payment function. In that case, you may not configure payment feature. See feature list for more details.

In this document, ‘Application’, ‘Service’, ‘Application service’ mean the same.
BookAndPay application consists of multiple services such as user management service, payment service, booking service, self-service and so forth. However for majority of users, when you deploy the application, most of these services will run. When you configure, you configure or enable only the services you need.

2. Deploy the application.

BookAndPay service can be used in different deployment configurations. Details of various deployment methods can be found in the deployment guide.

This getting started guide assumes the BNP service is running on your own hosted virtual server. You may deploy the application on a hosted virtual server or you may use our managed hosted servers. If you use our managed hosted service, we will install the server and manage it for you.

The deployment guide will provide basic instruction on how to deploy the application if you are doing it yourselves.

3. Configure the application.

Once the application services are deployed, configure the services. You only need to configure the services you use. For example if you are not using payment service, you do not need to configure payment service to use say Stripe.

4. Connect your website to the application.

The last step after deployment and configuration is to provide a link from your existing website to the BookAndPay application. This is typically done by adding two buttons such as “Book Now” and “Login” and link the button URLs to the BookAndPay application URLs/endpoints.
